We were engaged by Southend Borough Council as the main contractor for an unusual project, refurbishing one of only 16 funicular railways in the UK. Our team undertook a comprehensive assessment of the structure before initiating the refurbishment process to ensure it met safety and operational standards.
As part of the project, we carried out shot blasting and structural repairs, focusing on restoring the integrity of the entire structure. Our skilled team also applied a specialist spray finish using high-quality products to enhance durability and aesthetics, ensuring the railway’s longevity and functionality.
Thanks to our commitment to quality and attention to detail, the local residents were over the moon to see their newly refurbished railway back in operation. This project not only revitalised an important community asset but also demonstrated our expertise in handling unique and challenging projects with care.
